Persian Cat Breed

The most famous may be the Persian cat breed. The origin of this breed is still unkown, even several claim the originally belong to Persia but other theory says that they came from Russia. The most represented breed in cat shows all around America and Europe and take the lead in rating given by CFA and European Cat clubs.


Persian Cat are generally very calm and quite, this cat is suitable for people who look for peaceful and pleasant companionship. Like Maine Coon cat this breed is not talkative as well. Persian cats are homely cat and settle well into apartments as well. This cat is difficult to survive out side door because normally do not hunt.

Since Persians are longhaired cats with very silky coat their grooming and care requires a lot of patience and time. The most attention seeking area of Persian cats is their eyes, which require cleaning every day. Regular baths would also play a vital role in taking car of the coat of Persian cat. This breed has a highly chance of developing polycystic kidney disease as well as Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy which is a common disease in all cats but is hereditary in Persians along with Maine coon and American Shorthair.
